Over the past 15 years, the Algarve in Portugal has witnessed a boom in construction and development almost unparalleled throughout the rest of Europe. The influx of foreign investors and developers has brought with it new technology, higher standards and greater professionalism throughout the construction industry. The economic consequences of Portugal’s membership of the European Union will continue to further the development of this flourishing industry within the Algarve. Having worked for several years for one of the Algarve’s foremost Design Consultants, Gisella Terfehr and Stewart Seaton decided to form their own Architectural Practice, with the intention of providing a fresh approach to this flourishing profession here in the Algarve. Arquidois is a multi-discipline practise of architects, designers and engineers aiming to provide comprehensive integrated design services for the built environment. Our mission is to be collaborative, working in partnership with clients, colleagues in the construction industry and the communities upon which our work impacts. We aim to be ethical and responsible to all stakeholders. We aim to be innovative, staying abreast of the latest developments and trends in society, building technology and design. As far as is possible we will embrace the issues of environmentalism and sustainability, as they continue to move towards the centre of society’s conciousness. We aim to be the Algarves leading building design practise, well known for providing excellence in design and service through our partnership approach. We know that good design creates value, both to our clients and society at large.
